About Us...

Both Triumph Karate Schools are located in the beautiful Hudson Valley region of Kingston and Stone Ridge New York. We are committed to providing quality martial arts instruction to each and every student.
Trust In Triumph Mr. Rodney Batista is owner and operator of both schools. He has been training in the martial arts since 1991 and has since earned the rank of third degree black belt (Sahm Dan) and certified instructor (Kyo Sa). Mr. Batista and his qualified staff have a sincere interest in your self-improvement and in helping you reach your goals.
All classes are instructed by Black Belts certified under the Tang Soo Do Mi Guk Kwan Association. At Triumph Karate we take pride in ourselves and our school. Our primary concern is to provide the students and their families with caring, personalized attention, and superior service.
Triumph Karate Schools are certified as Martial Arts instructional facilities in the Art of Tang Soo Do. We are under the direct guidance of Grandmaster Charles J. Ferraro, President of the Tang Soo Do Mi Guk Kwan Association, www.TSDMGK.com, and owner and director of West Haven Academy of Karate Achievement Centers.
The Tang Soo Do Mi Guk Kwan Black Belt Success System was developed by Grandmaster Charles J. Ferraro in 1995 as a result of his 30 year study and practice of various martial arts styles. Tang Soo So Mi Guk Kwan was designed on the concepts of self defense and character development. The principles stressed in Tang Soo Do Mi Guk Kwan philosophy are respect, confidence, discipline, mental alertness and a positive attitude towards life.
RESPECT We treat all of our students with respect. RESPECT is shown in the martial arts in a variety of ways. All of our classes begin with a formal bow to show respect and appreciation of our instructors. Polite greetings and mannerisms are other ways we demonstrate respect, in and out of the school.
DISCIPLINE Our schools emphasize discipline and the value of persisting until goals are reached. DISCIPLINE is important for a student to gain proper progress. One must develop the discipline to attend class on a regular basis and to put forth the necessary effort in class. We teach our students the value of making goals and working towards meeting them.
CONTROL We teach about breathing control, emotional control, and control of one's actions and attitudes. CONTROL is stressed to insure that the Martial Arts is never misused or abused.
"A student should think of peace, harmony, and inner strength. Developing and maintaining positive thoughts and habits will lead toward worthwhile goals." ~Triumph Karate
"I like karate because it's fun and it teaches you to be nice to people." ~Jacob D.
"I like the self-discipline. It's challenging and the people are really nice." ~Samantha B.
